you have to back up your save, then uninstall the previous version before downloading the new one, also you might have to make extra space. say if it says you have 3 gigs, and it takes up slightly more than 2, you probably need more.

the dev has disappeared and hasn't been seen for a while in his discord, here, f95, patreon or subscribestar. So.... Until further notice, I'd say it's prolly dead.

Victor I'm so sorry. Words alone could never describe how badly I feel about your situation and I honestly wish I could do more to help. I'm in a bit of a financial crisis myself. Despite that I will do everything in my power to help in any way I can. I truly do adore your writing and I wish beyond anything I could give more. You're a precious sweet guy and deserve the world and if I could give it to you I would. Please take the time you need to do what you have to. I know that's easier said than done due to finances and all, just please don't let things get too overwhelming. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm in your discord and I'll do anything to help. I REALLY, really don't want to be that guy. I know it probably has a lot to do with the virus and everything, but I mean, it's been a year. and in a year, the entirety of the story update is

15 new main story events

 3 new Celeste Events

 2 new Serra Events

 2 new Alex events

 2 new Gracie events

 2 new Lillian events 

And that's it. And most of the story events are literally copy pastas. You get 4 classes, and they're all just minutely edited versions of themselves, and the same thing goes for the introductions to the guild. 

You didn't even NEED to release 

10+ new locations

 10+ new side characters because you literally can't do anything with any of them. 

It was added for the sake of being added. You'd already waited a year for an update, I don't see why you just didn't wait till you could actually... you know, interact with the new characters to push the new update. Then you uploaded it to steam with a $10 price tag for a game that barely has 3 hours of content. The level up system was absolutely useless in this update because you can't even do anything with the money you earn lmao. I'm sitting on like $500 just because I wanted to grind to level 10 to see if it even did anything. EVERYTHING you dropped in this update besides the character stories was irrelevant. It was the most incomplete update I've downloaded from any game yet. 

I know this is probably the most brutal feedback you've gotten yet, but dude... I've waited a year for this. 

Not to mention... Celeste's latest event was just out there. We said she's cute and all of a sudden she's taking nudes of herself, PRINTING THEM OUT and leaving them on our table for the public to see if anyone decided to go into our bedrooms.

I had a random urge to see how far this game had come since I last played it, and backed up my saves from my phone to my computer and downloaded it, and I can't believe how disappointed I was. The only reason I'm even this upset is because like, the base of the game was so promising. Serra, Alex and Lillian were such adorable characters, the story seemed so great, and then.. this just flopped. I hope you don't take this too harshly, because I can't imagine how much time you put into all this. I just wish you would have prioritized other things than a female orc and rebel fae riding us in reverse cowboy. 

For its potential I give it a 4/5 

but for what you prioritized and dropped I have to give it a 1/5.

Little thing I learned to make getting scenes easier is to save before you make a choice. Separate save files. that way you get to see every choice and how it branches. That's what visual novels are for, anyways

The game isn't all smut so probably nothing. Or you messed up on the harem route. Or something like that

that's counterintuitive to the whole stat system to begin with. the point of visual novels is to replay them to see the different paths my dude.

I adore this game. The humor is top notch and so is the writing. I need the new update, honestly. Very few of these games are ever as well executed as this so I always go into these with low expectations. Ripples had me laughing so hard I was crying.

Is this game Dead on arrival? I've not seen any news about an update at all. and I've been waiting for 2 months now

So far this game has been nothing like what I expected going in, but that's not to say it's a bad thing. When I downloaded this last year around august, I was expecting a cutesy, loving visual novel with a harem of girls at your disposal. As Selebus has continued to push out more and more content for LiL though, the game has become much more than just a visual novel dating sim. There's multiple hidden messages, tons of background lore that you can theorycraft with and discuss in the discord and Selebus is continuing to tug on heart strings as he pushes out more and more content. This is what DDLC *should* have been and could have been, and much more. Thank you so much for giving me something to look forward to Selebus, and again, fantastic writing!
